Clair and Steve’s Wedding

Wedding Date: 11/2/19

The Story

It was a dark and stormy night…Just Kidding! Our story actually began in 2014 and started as a Blind Date.

One day at school, Clair was approached by her friend Kristi Sturgis who was working in her classroom as an Applied Behavioral Therapist at the time. She came to Clair at lunch one day and said, “Hey…Can I set you up with somebody?” Apparently, Kristi had already concocted a plan with one of Steve’s friends, Tammy Tritt, to have them meet. They had already shown Steve a picture of Clair and told him about her beforehand; of course, he made sure she was a Clemson Fan.

Clair and Steve’s first date was at Chili’s and then to see the movie “God is Not Dead.” After a brief period of dating, Clair and Steve decided the timing wasn’t right. They even tried dating again later to discover the timing still wasn’t quite right.

Fast forward three years to 2017. Steve contacted Clair via Facebook to “check-in.” They continued to communicate periodically for several months with little messages like “Go Tigers” after a Clemson Win. Finally, after several months Clair got the courage to ask Steve what his intentions were with the contact. Steve alluded to the fact that he would be interested in giving them another try, and Clair responded with “My number hasn’t changed.”

The rest is history. Clair and Steve dated for approximately a year and a half before Steve popped the question at the Lowry’s Christmas Parade. Clair thought Steve was at work even though one of her friends mentioned they thought they saw Steve. Steve’s daughter Madison asked Clair if she wanted to see the shirt she was wearing under her sweatshirt. She then lifted her shirt to reveal a t-shirt that said, “Will you marry my daddy?” When Clair turned around Steve was on one knee with a ring. Madison then turned around to reveal the back of her shirt which read “We come as a package deal!

Clair and Steve look forward to their future life together and becoming a family of three!
